Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using NoorHifz ("the Service", "the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not use the Service. These terms apply to all users including free, Pro, and Madrasa plan subscribers.

2. Description of Service

NoorHifz is a digital Quran memorization tracking application that provides:

• Session logging for Quran memorization and revision
• Progress tracking and revision scheduling tools
• Access to the 15-line Tajweed Mushaf viewer (Pro plan)
• Multi-language interface (8 languages)
• Islamic calendar (Hijri) integration
• Analytics and progress reporting

The Quran page images displayed in the viewer are sourced from third-party providers (practicequran.com, qurancdn.com). NoorHifz does not claim ownership of Quranic text or imagery.

3. Account Registration

To use NoorHifz, you must create an account with a valid email address. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
• All activities that occur under your account
• Providing accurate information during registration
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorised account access at hello@noorhifz.com

One person may only have one account. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent free plan limits is not permitted.

4. Free Plan — Limitations

The Free plan includes:

• Tracking up to 3 surahs
• Maximum 30 log entries total (not per month)
• Basic dashboard features
• Hijri calendar and dark mode

5. Pro Plan — Subscription Terms

The Pro plan is a paid subscription providing unlimited access to all NoorHifz features. By subscribing:

• You authorise us to charge your payment method on a monthly or annual basis
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date
• Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time — access continues until end of billing period
• Annual plans are non-refundable after 14 days from purchase
• We offer a 14-day free trial for new Pro subscribers — no charge until trial ends

Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (our payment processor and Merchant of Record). Applicable taxes (GST, VAT) are automatically calculated and collected by Lemon Squeezy.

6. Madrasa Plan — Institutional Terms

The Madrasa plan is designed for Islamic schools, Hifz academies, and Markazes. Additional terms apply:

• The plan administrator (teacher/principal) is responsible for managing student accounts
• Student data must only be used for educational Hifz tracking purposes
• The institution must obtain appropriate consent from parents/guardians for minors
• Institutional accounts may not be resold or transferred without written permission
• Custom pricing for institutions with more than 100 students — contact hello@noorhifz.com

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use NoorHifz only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Use the service for any commercial purpose other than your own personal Hifz tracking
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or redistribute the application
• Upload harmful, offensive, or inappropriate content in notes/comments
• Use automated tools to scrape, copy, or extract data from the service
• Share your account credentials with others (each person needs their own free account)
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to other users' data

8. Intellectual Property

The NoorHifz application, its design, code, branding, and original content are owned by NoorHifz and protected by copyright. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any part of the service without written permission.

The Holy Quran text and page images remain the property of their respective publishers. NoorHifz uses them under fair use for educational and personal religious practice purposes.

9. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. NoorHifz may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any losses resulting from service interruptions.

10. Cancellation & Refunds

• Free plan: Delete your account at any time from Settings → Sign Out → Contact us
• Pro monthly: Cancel anytime — no refund for the current period, access continues until period end
• Pro annual: Full refund within 14 days of purchase if you are not satisfied — email hello@noorhifz.com
• Account deletion: All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days of account deletion request

11. Limitation of Liability

NoorHifz is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, NoorHifz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability in any matter relating to these terms shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 3 months prior to the claim.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in India. However, we strongly prefer to resolve all disputes amicably through direct communication before any legal proceedings.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms periodically. We will notify you of material changes via email at least 14 days in advance. Your continued use of NoorHifz after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
